What is it about....that first sip of hot coffee in the morning....that clean smell of fresh linens on your freshly made bed....a fleeting memory of a joyful time shared with a loved one?
I think it is about Being aware of the joy that all of these, seemingly small, things can bring to our day an cumulatively add to the joy each of our days.
Thank you for re-minding us to open our heart-mind's eye to all of the joys that Life gives to us every day.
Duke, your comment brought me to think about how I've often heard: "It's the little things" or... "it's the simple things in life." :) Thank you for your heart and generous response.
Love this! I listened this time. You read so well- your voice is perfect for your writing style. The beginning reminds me of an exercise I did in a yoga class with eighth graders one year inspired by Thick Nat Hahn (sp?) when he writes about teaching prisoners to be truly present when peeling an orange slowly. You are in the zone! Yoga teacher training is inspiring you so it seems - 🙏🌈❤️
Thank you, Susan! That is so great to hear you find the writing and reading aloud aligned in my voice. It's also incredible to read about your reference! I hadn't heard of that author or story before, so this is a cool affirmation that there was connection there. Yoga teacher training is most definitely inspiring me in so many ways. In this moment, I can't help but think of the meaning of Yoga, Union, and how everything is connected. <3

Mmmm rain on a window! Extra points when it's in a moving car.
Aaaand when you peel the orange in one fell swoop. That is an endlessly satisfying kind of magic. 🍊🍊🍊
