Thank you so much Matt, honored to have you read and enjoy it so much. If you and the lady are ever in Nashville, hit me up for a yoga class 😉 or anything really haha
I love this exploration of what a new frontier “staying” can be. I have similar needs to start new cycles - at this point in my life, I’m trying to find all the ways I can honor the newness inside without destructive tendencies. Sending love and patience 🫶🏽👯♀️✨🌱
Ahhh, Jeannie, so powerful! The tree I envisioned was a Sequoia (apropos to my travels this week) I saw the large General Sherman in the grove we visited. So very tall -275 ft and stately- trunk volume 52,500 cu ft, over 2000 years old with a crown spread of 106.5 ft. With fire danger being rampant in the forest, these trees that only grow in a specific elevation with specific environmental conditions, are unique to say the least. An important fact I learned is that the only way new life is released from them is through intense heat from said fire to allow the cones to burst open with seeds to be spread in the perfect conditions for new growth. I saw multiple trees with fire damage due to their providence in life to stay. The damaged trees were still alive and seedling sequoias were given life from their seeds. It was all so beautiful and means even more to me after your writing for this week. As I move around the country, I am acknowledging for me, the staying is is in my spirit and heart. I sit with the places that need healed or nurtured because that “fire” allows me to have seeds to drop around me. Thank you for your vulnerability. It has opened in me a new insight. As I realize this is a lengthy ramble, I hope it makes sense! ❤️
Lana this makes beautiful sense. So thoughtfully and beautifully written, thank you for sharing. You have also layered on further new insight for me. I’m really grateful to share in this way with you! I love how you related to those sequoias. Keep taking that sweet care of your spirit 💛💛💛
Wow sissy. So great. My dying tree is finally in new soil. Time to surrender. To heal. To grow. To thrive. This was a beautiful listen today. Thank you💛
I'm catching up with my Substack and wanted to get back to you on this piece. I immensely enjoyed this, especially your sharing the exercise celebrating the tree. When I read it, I was serendipitously sitting on a deck overlooking the redwoods. The lesson was helpful the following days, so thank you very much. Keep sharing, and happy first anniversary! 💜
Beautiful work, Jeannie. Really loved reading this. Your pupils are lucky, the ones who heard that meditation.
